Phu Quoc (pronounced Phu Cok) also goes by the nickname 'Pearl Island' due to the extensive pearl cultivation in the waters surrounding the island. Located in the Gulf of Thailand in Kien Giang Province, Phu Quoc is Vietnam's largest island.
Phu Quoc arguably has some of the best beaches in Vietnam, many with pristine white sand with clear turquoise water. I've visited every beach on the island, some several times, and these are my best beaches in Phu Quoc.
Whether you're looking to party on the beach or immerse yourself in natural surrounds with nothing but the sounds of nature, you're sure to find a hotel, hostel, or homestay to suit your needs.
